Athlete Workouts

This workout is for those that are competitive athletes looking to get an edge on their competition and get in the best shape of their lives! Emphasis on vertical jump, speed, conditioning, strength, and power.

Suggested Equipment: portable power jumper, power wheel , jungle gym, kettlebells, jump rope, training DVD's

Strength - May 20th

5 sets of 5 reps of each exercise as heavy as possible, alternating between:

  1. 1-arm Kettlebell Military Press
  2. Weighted Pull Ups

Rest as needed, then repeat above format with:

  1. Pistols
  2. Double Kettlebell Snatch

Strength - May 19th

1) Eischens Yoga Routine: Beginner Sequence on New EY DVD

2) 15/15 x 10 minutes workout
- Handstand Push Ups and Weighted Pull Ups

3) 200 1-arm KB Snatches AFAP

Post total reps of each and do your best to improve each week til you can do 6+ reps per set for the whole 10 minutes. When you can do that, increase the height of the jumps, weight of KB, resistance of Power Push up and you can always do more chins or pulls or even add a weight vest for push ups and pull ups works great too:)

3 mile run AFAP.

Rest as needed, then repeat above format with:

  1. Kettlebell Front Squats
  2. Double Kettlebell Snatch

Strength Endurance - May 15th

2) 15/15 x 10 minutes workout
- Double Kettlebell Push Press and Kipping Pull Ups
3) 15/15 x 20 minutes workout
- 1-arm KB Snatch
Post total reps of each and do your best to improve each week til you can do 6+ reps per set for the whole 15 minutes. When you can do that, increase the height of the jumps, weight of KB, resistance of Power Push up and you can always do more chins or pulls or even add a weight vest for push ups and pull ups works great too:)
