This may be quite abit too late, but the best way to measure fat % is with the calipers. (Spelling) They look like kitchen tongs that you handle food with.
The titania ones are rubbish, they are not accurate at all. It all depends on the humidity, hydration levels, time of day etc. Basically they work by sending a small electric current through your body and measuring the ease that it flows through. More resistance = more BF %. It often only goes through your legs though, unless you have the one where it connects to your fingers as well, as we know electricity takes the easiest route.
As we also know water conducts electricity, so the more water you drink the easier it is. If you test it 4 hours after you get up, it will also be inaccurate as our body draws water to our torso at night to repair/ replenish our organs, meaning our legs and arms are dry.
This is all amongst other things. Over all they are a nice gimmick and Ok to use as a guide, but are not very accurate at all.
(I do stand to be correct on the finer points of this, its been a while since I read up about all this, but the jist of it is spot on)

Have you had any luck re gaining muscle with the thrive/ vegan diet?
Interested to see the progress. I have just gotten settled from travelling and about to start training again and eating healthy, have been looking at the thrive diet.
I noticed that in the meal plans you have breads and starch based complex carbs in there. This goes against somethings that Ive been told so Id just like some input on it.
From what I understand, wheat etc is no good due to the gluten. Is MBG inline with this? Or is there a particular type of bread product that you reccommend?
From past things that I have read (metabolic type diet) they claim that sweet cravings within 2 hours of eating are due to an imbalance in that meals Protein(+ fat):Carb ratio.
So based on that you need to increase either your protein or carbs for that particular meal - people often need different ratios for each meal. Which it is you will need to work out with trial and error.
If you getting sweet cravings after that then its your body telling you to eat.
I am only just learning about the MBG ways, so I could stand corrected on this with the vegan way of thinking.... Id be interested to hear.
